LGBTQ Youth
At Dumbledore's Army, a great many of our club members identify as part of the LGBTQ community. That is why we make it one of our top priorities, especially in light of the transphobic tweets by author J.K. Rowling, to take care of our youth and help those who find themselves in difficult situations.

Organizations
Below are some LGBTQ organizations. Consider reading about them and the resources they provide, and how you can help through these organizations.

The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. They offer the Trevor Lifeline, a confidential service for struggling LGBTQ youth to speak to trained counselors.

Out & Equal
Out & Equal is the premier organization working exclusively on LGBTQ workplace equality. Through our worldwide programs, Fortune 500 partnerships and our annual Workplace Summit conference, we help LGBTQ people thrive and support organizations creating a culture of belonging for all.

GLAAD
GLAAD rewrites the script for LGBTQ acceptance. As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD promotes positive portrayals of LGBTQ people in the entertainment industry and fights against defamatory, homophobic, and transphobic coverage.

Our Fundraising
In the past, Dumbledore's Army has fundraised for LGBTQ Youth Organizations such as the Trevor Project by selling Chocolate Frogs and Butterbeer.

This semester, we will be fundraising at each General Body Meeting using the classic game of Penny Wars, and we will be donating 100% of the money raised to the Trevor Project.
